Last MGBx3J // New Shoes


We made it! MGBx3J is done! I definitely learned a lot about my body during these past couple months.
Something I'm really excited to do is work even harder this last month before I head to school! I'm kicking up my cardio to 60 minutes! 

The picture on the left is from when I started working out about a year ago. The picture on the right is from about 2 weeks ago. Not a crazy amount of progress, but I'm proud! I'll be taking more (better quality) pictures soon!

So, to quote my consistent half-marathon runner of a mom, you should get a new pair of shoes every 500 miles. Well, that's great advice for those who track their miles! But what about those of us who don't? I have had a pair of pink Nike Free 4.0 shoes for the past year and a half, which I loved. However, the top of the shoe started to tear so you could see my toes & the cushioning on the bottom became thin. So that's when I decided it was time for a new pair! 
Moral of the story: shoes will make or break your workout. Make sure you look for the signs of worn down shoes (rips, thin lining, joint pain, etc.) 



I love my Nike Free 4.0s! I tried the 5.0 recently, but the toe box was a little too wide for my liking. Plus, the 5.0 edges of the heel were rounded, which made me feel less stable (for when I'm working with weights).

MGBx3J

OH MY GOODNESS we're almost done!
What do we have… like 2 days left?

I don't officially leave for Vegas until the 6th, so these next few days, I'm going to be…

1. drinking lots of lemon water
2. eating less granola bars, & more salads and fruits for snacks
3. doing at least 45 minutes of cardio per day
4. cutting sugar COMPLETELY out!

I'm going to make a more lengthy post of the benefits of lemon water this week, so stay tuned! And good luck with the last few days of MGBx3J!!

MGBx3J Update

…number…something.

Hey all! Last month of GBx3J! Woohoo!
This week started off really well. Tons and tons of cardio! But as some of you know, I do work at Victoria's Secret & our Semi Annual Sale*** started yesterday. Which meant I was working until 3am and my coworkers decided to have a carb-potluck (not intentionally, but thats how it turned out). So today I struggled. But I'm learning!

Something awesome I re-dicovered this week was sprints. Goodness gracious! I sweat like crazy and I love it! I talked about how in love I was with sprinting a while back, but since then I hopped off the treadmill and moved to other things. I don't know why, but I just never really went back to running. I instead did my cardio warmups with the rowing machine or elliptical. Anyway, I got on the treadmill the other day and jogged for a while & finished with some 8mph sprints! I have this theory (not sure if it's true, so don't quote me), that if you perform new activities, your body isn't used to them, and therefore exerts more energy, giving you a better workout. I think thats what happened with my sprinting; I hadn't done them in so long, so when I did them the other day my body got a really intense workout! So try new things! Do Zumba, try a new elliptical machine or stair stepper! Theres lots to try and we're all still learning! Have fun with it! Make this last month of MGx3J the best!
