A Little Update

I was going through my posts recently and was very close to deleting my old "A Little Update" posts. They're no longer relevant or true, so I was going to delete them, but then I realized it may be fun to look at where I wanted to be and where I actually ended up later in life.

So, here's an fresh A Little Update.

Before coming to Southern Utah University, I was set on getting a bachelor's in Theatre (focus ing on directing) and then going to a hair school shortly afterwards.
However, after my first semester at SUU, I fell in love with a new major, Strategic Communications. I remember the many meetings I had with advisors to get me to this place, and the day where I signed the form to switch my major. I cried. I was so happy! I had found a home not just at my university, but in my classes.

So here I am, one semester away from being done with my bachelor's. It's such a bitter sweet moment. I'm so excited for my future, but I'll definitely miss my little SUU home.

I also got hired as an Executive Intern with Target for this summer! I'm so excited to learn and grow in my position. When I got the phone call that I was hired, I was sitting outside of class in a hallway, and literally fell to the floor. I called my mom immediately afterwards and cried for like 10 minutes. It was such a relief to have my internship figured out! If you're in college and freaking out about your internship like I was, I highly recommend attending your school's career fair(s)!

I'm really not sure where I'll end up after college, but I'm very happy with where I am now. I am confident in myself, and in God, that I will go where I'm needed.

Thanks for reading!

A Week Without Snapchat

For those who follow me on Snapchat, you know that I am an avid post-er. I love Snapchat! It's a great way to get out information, reach out to friends, and show cool things that you're doing.
So why did I delete my Snapchat app for a week?
Let me tell you.

I like to go through Snapchat stories at the end of the day. It's usually the only time I'm not busy and can listen to the videos. It's always interesting to see what people are posting and what they did throughout the day! Especially with friends in other states or family members back at home.
As I mentioned before, Snapchat is a great, casual way of posting pictures and videos of things you have done throughout your day. Some even use it as a way to show off, like look who I'm with or look where I'm at.
Now I'm not saying that I have not "shown off" via Snapchat before. I have defiantly been known to post pictures of sushi or videos of friends just to let my followers know that I'm social, out with people, doing things.
But me, being a sensitive person, began to develop some FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) when checking Snapchat stories at the end of my day.
In one particular instance, I arrived home after a formal event and especially long day. I got to hang out with friends, dress up, and hung out with my boyfriend at the end of the day, which was much needed. But when I got home and looked at other's Snapchat stories, I started to feel awful. Many of my friends who were at the same event with me earlier that day were hanging out in different groups. All I could think of was That looks really fun and Why wasn't I invited?

I woke up the next morning, holding the same feelings as I had the night before, which was so dumb! Why was I letting literally seconds of videos affect my day so much? I had had a wonderful evening with friends that night too, so why was I feeling like I missed out on so much?

That's when I deleted my Snapchat app.

I didn't completely delete my account, though. Like I said before, I love Snapchat, and it has helped me so much with getting the word out for my blog, YouTube, etc.
I just needed a quick detox from the app.
I decided to delete the app for a week, just to see what would happen.

So here's what happened:

On the first day, Monday, it was rough. I'm not kidding when I say that I had the urge to take a video or picture on Snapchat about every 15 minutes. It really bugged me that my mind was so focused on the app! Anytime I did something fun or saw something interesting or had a funny thought, my instant reaction was to post it. Why can't I enjoy the privacy?
That's basically how everyday went until the weekend. I last minute decided to take a road trip home to California with a friend for y brother's birthday and Easter. I struggled with the idea of re-downloading the Snapchat app early so that I could post about being home and with family.
I stuck with my goal and didn't download the app, which turned out being really nice. I started to notice that I could do things, like play with my dog, hang out with my brother, lay outside, etc. without posting about it. It was nice to finally appreciate and enjoy the privacy I had. I started to think less and less about the app, and actually had an inner debate about if I should re-download the app at all.

In the end, I re-downloaded Snapchat. As I said before, I don't hate the app! I am a huge fan of social media and all of the cool things it can do. I think it's just very easy for us to feel inferior, no matter how many times we tell ourselves that we shouldn't compare social media to reality.

So, my friends, take a second to realize that everyone is just having fun. Everyone is just trying to do their best and make the most of the life they are living. Please realize that YOU need to focus on your life and what you're doing to make it your best life possible. Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, all that good stuff, is just people trying to showcase their best. While that sometimes leads to negative feelings, social media itself is not bad. Remember to count your blessings before you complain.

And that's about it.
Have a great week!

Yes, I'm aware I'm gorgeous.

Spring Break Part 1

Last week, Carli and I took a little break from video uploading and blogging to enjoy our Spring Break!
We packed up my car and drove to Vegas with our roommate, Ashlyn. We stayed with Carli's aunt (who had the cutest wiener dog I've ever seen). We spent our weekend going to a spa (for 3 hours), shopping, eating really great food, and just walking around the city!
HERE is the YouTube video from that weekend:

Next week, I'll be uploading the second part to our Spring Break vlog! We spent the week in San Diego hiking, go-cart racing, going to the beach, etc. Watch for that!

Q&A / February Favorites

Carli and I have received lots of requests since we started our YouTube channel to do a Q&A video. Last Tuesday, I set up an ask.fm account where anyone and everyone could ask us questions anonymously!

Here is the video of us answering a few of the questions asked:

I will be leaving the ask.fm account open so that you can ask questions at any time. We will definitely be doing another Q&A video in the future!

We also did our February Favorites video which you can watch here:

Changing Names

On a ride home one day, Carli and I began to discuss objects that had weird names, and what we would change them to. That conversation was the inspiration for today's video, which you can watch below:

Last Friday, we created a fun video on DIY's you could do for your Valentine. And while Valentine's Day is over, you can totally use these ideas for future gifts! Watch that video below:

I also created a Pinterest board that has images and links to all of our videos! Go and follow that board to make sure you don't miss anything! CLICK HERE to go to the board!

Next week we're doing a Q & A video, so CLICK HERE to submit some anonymous questions for us to answer!

The Art of Organization

Welcome to a new week, friends! And a new week means new videos...

Today, our video is all about organizing your small space.

Watch above, or click HERE!
Here are three other tips we didn't mention in the video, but you lovely viewers get to read because you follow this blog:

calendar/planner
I mentioned planners in the video, but you may notice that I also write my To-Do's on a calendar as well. I put this calendar above my desk in my room so I can see it no matter where I stand in my room. Having the calendar as well as the planner helps me remember what I have going on, especially during busy weeks where I may not have a second to reach into my backpack and open up my planner.

de-clutter
Cleaning your room can sometimes be a daunting task. You may have clothes on your bed, notebooks on your floor, and let's not even talk about your bathroom or kitchen. So if you're feeling overwhelmed but don't have hours to set aside, try and pick up and put away just three things right before you go to bed. And if you're feeling ambitious, make your bed in the morning! Trust me, it makes a world of a difference.
When you do have a few hours to spare, you'll first want to clear your sleeping and work space. Get those random papers organized that have been sitting on your desk for days! You can even take the time to go through your closet and clean out (and donate!) the clothes you haven't worn in a while.

utilizing your space
I talked about this a little in the video, but this is a very important key in staying organized when you live in any small space. In the video I mentioned using plastic drawers, which are great for storing clothes, just make sure you're folding your clothes the best way possible! Here's a helpful hint to make sure you're getting the most space from small dressers and drawers:

January Favorites

Well, here's to a new month!
I've always loved February. It's pink and filled with love, just like me.

What?

Okay anyway, since it's a new month, Carli & I decided to do a "January Favorites" video! This video contains just a few things we liked during the month of January. We'll keep this up with the passing of every month. Some of the things we talk about are physical items, some are memories, and some times we just talk. Distraction is a problem with us.

To watch the new video for today, click HERE!

And to watch last Friday's video, click HERE!

For last Friday's video, I took a twitter poll a few days before, giving my followers the chance to pick what our next video would be. I gave the options of Q&A, Get Ready With Me, What's In Our Backpacks, and DIY Crafting. The most popular one was What's In My Backpack with 44% and 18 overall votes!
To vote in my next poll, follow me on twitter by clicking HERE!

Thank you guys for all your support! Carli & I are having so much fun with these video and can't wait to show you what we have coming up.

Let's Get It Started

For those who saw my last post, Hannah & Carli YouTube + Blog has begun!
I'm not going to lie, our first video was rough.
However, I spent a long time watching videos and reading reviews on how to make the most out of your video and get the best quality. In my opinion, the videos quality has greatly improved!
We also care as to what our viewers want to see. Every week or two, I create a poll with options of what videos we'll make for the upcoming week! You can follow me on Twitter HERE to vote on videos!

Last week, High School Musical had their 10 year reunion on Disney Channel! Carli & I seized the opportunity and created a video off of that. You can find that video HERE!

Originally, we wanted to post every Tuesday, but we got overexcited and decided to post every Tuesday AND Friday! More fun for you, more editing for me.
Whatever it takes to be famous.

Click HERE to see this week's video, where we talk all about trends we want to start and trends we want to end. There are points in this video where we get a little distracted, but that's where the funny parts are so just roll with it.

Thanks for all the support we have received so far! Feel free to leave comments, like our videos, and subscribe! We have some great videos planned for the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
